| | | National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC) | | | The advent of revolutionary molecular - level engineering, or so called "nanotechnology" is expected to have a major influence in the future development of science and technology. The Thai government has realized the importance of this emerging field. The National Nanotechnology Center was founded on August 13th, 2003 as an autonomous agency under an umbella of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), located in Thailand Science Park, Pathumthani (outskirt of Bangkok, about 20 minutes of the Bangkok International Airport).
With an aim of both funding and conducting researches in the field of nanotechnology, the vision of NANOTEC is to be a dynamic institution continually evolving to meet the challenges, which includes establishing a world-class facility and services for all researchers, and coordinating researches in the field of nanotechnology in Thailand. The realization of these aims will in turn lead to strengthening the capacity, to increasing the competitiveness and eventually to the betterment of the social and economic infrastructures of Thailand.
